Frequently asked questions

  • Q: How to pronounce your name?
A: In Polish language ”j” is pronounced as ”y” in English ”yes”. So you pronounce my name as if it was “Yan”.
  • Q: You sometimes use name “Janek”. What's up with that?
A: “Janek” is diminutive of “Jan”, so I prefer “Janek” as being much less formal.
  • Q: How to pronounce name of your city, “Łódź”?
A:Ł” is pronounced as ”w” in English ”want” or ”will”. ”ó” is pronounced as ”oo” in English “tool”. Sound represented by ”” is not present in English, but if you pronounce it as ”g” in English ”gene” you will be very close.
